FRECUENCIAMOD / PROJECT / 2003 / SANTIAGO, CHILE.

As part of the research for casiCasa project, FRECUENCIAMOD is about being able to build a human scale construction by folding papers and how fragile this would be.

Polyhedron origami (papiroflexia) is used for visualizing complex geometric figures in mathematics, when teaching how molecules are, for example. Some of them reach a number of 90 modules.

In this excercise, two types of modules were used, repeated eight and twelve times each, so they generate the whole figure, without the use of any kind of glue.

They can be re-built by viewers. Llight-weight and disposable paper.

The shape of the cube and its relation with space. This “body” is questioned again, this time inside a natural landscape (mountain), and an artificial landscape (sound).

Each cube would have a speaker emitting abstract continuous sounds, different form each other, and together would generate one sonorous composition.

18 disposable paper modules. Total measure: 210 x 210 x 210 cms. e/ cube.
